A lifelong New Jersey resident, Avi has called Teaneck home for 13 years with his wife and four children, and has devoted countless volunteer hours to the town's parks, fields, and youth programs. As Chair of the Fields Advisory Board he's led efforts to fix long-standing drainage issues and advance a new multisport field at Votee Park, and as Chair of the Municipal Open Space Trust Fund Board he helps guide investment in parkland preservation.

"I've spent years working alongside residents to improve our parks, fields, and community spaces, and I want to bring that same practical, community-focused approach to the Town Council."

Kolb

Sharon Kolb

Lifelong Educator · Community Advocate

Sharon Kolb is a lifelong educator, community volunteer and advocate, who has proudly called Teaneck home for the past 26 years. She and her husband raised their four children in Teaneck and are now the proud grandparents of eleven grandchildren. Sharon's years of community service and volunteer leadership have shaped her lifelong commitment to helping others. It inspired her to become more deeply involved in the future of Teaneck.

A former special education teacher and administrator, Sharon served in both public and private schools, including Teaneck Public Schools. Throughout her career, Sharon advocated for students, supported families, and worked alongside educators to help every child succeed. Her years in education reinforced the importance of listening attentively, treating others with respect, working collaboratively, and solving problems effectively. These principles continue to guide her approach to serving the Teaneck community.

Sharon's commitment to Teaneck extends well beyond the classroom. She serves on the Board of the Teaneck Chamber of Commerce and the Advisory Board of the Bergen County Jewish Action Committee and the Teaneck Democratic Municipal Committee. In addition, she has held leadership roles with numerous local organizations. Through these experiences, she has worked with residents, businesses, and community organizations to help strengthen Teaneck and encourage constructive dialogue across the community.

In recent years, as Teaneck faced increasing challenges and divisions, Sharon became more deeply involved in civic life. Her decision to seek a seat on the Town Council grew from a desire to help shape Teaneck's future through thoughtful leadership and practical solutions. She is committed to serving all residents and helping ensure Teaneck remains a welcoming, vibrant community for current and future generations.

Ramjattan

Amrit Ramjattan

Engineer · Infrastructure & Planning Expert

Amrit Ramjattan is an engineer, infrastructure professional, and lifelong Teaneck resident who is committed to thoughtful planning, responsible development, and public service. After immigrating from Trinidad and Tobago to Teaneck with his family at the age of nine, Amrit attended Teaneck Public Schools before earning a degree in Electrical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).

Amrit began his career with MTA New York City Transit, where he spent eight years in the Capital Program Management Division overseeing major rail infrastructure projects. He now works in the Rail and Transit Division at Parsons, providing engineering consulting services and helping manage large-scale transportation and construction projects.

Dedicated to serving his hometown, Amrit is a member of the Teaneck Zoning Board of Adjustment, where he reviews variance applications, ensures compliance with township regulations, and helps guide development in accordance with Teaneck's Master Plan. His professional expertise in infrastructure, planning, and project management provides valuable experience in addressing the township's long-term needs.

Now seeking a seat on the Teaneck Town Council, Amrit is focused on responsible growth, transparent government, and preserving the qualities that make Teaneck a diverse and welcoming community. Inspired by the opportunities Teaneck provided his family, he is committed to ensuring future generations can continue to thrive in the township he proudly calls home.
